Hello everyone! Some of you may already know me from The Girl On Trend, but if you don't, I'm Lucy, and I'm here to share my tips on how to become fit, either in the gym, out and about, or simply from your bedroom!
As a first year university student last year, the words 'healthy lifestyle' didn't apply to me at all, and looking back, I am a little disappointed in myself, I didn't take much notice of my health, and began to notice differences in my figure as time went on. I think that we can all agree that first year uni students are all about the party lifestyle, and how many times can you make it out on a night in a row...but then summer comes along, and you begin to think..."My body didn't look like this last year", or "Wow, I didn't think I'd get out of breath this easily!".
In no way am I ever going to tell anyone to ditch the party lifestyle and stop drinking alcohol, because I still continue to drink it, just not as much as I used to. You can still be the socialite of your city without damaging your health too much.
Now, you may be sat reading this thinking that this will all be a waste of time, you're not interested in fitness, never have been, and you've never really ever thought about going for a run, but that's OKAY! I'll let you into a little secret...I used to hate physical education at school, I hated anything to do with fitness, I looked okay so why would I need to workout?
It's only recently that I've begun to love fitness. Breakups, disappointment, betrayal, sadness are all things that I experienced only FOUR months ago! With so many negative emotions surrounding me, I wanted to find something that would let me forget about situations, and make me feel a little bit happier than I was, I've always loved shopping, but even that didn't help. I tried to get into watching TV series, but that didn't help either, then one day, I woke up and thought to myself, "You're Lucy, don't let anyone put you down, you can do whatever you want to do when you put your mind to it", and later that day, I headed down to my local supermarket, bought some weights, and ever since then, I've been a fitness lover.
Everyone will have different reasons for beginning their journey to fitness and a healthy lifestyle, some will because it helps them overcome situations like myself, some will because it looks fun and they love the feeling afterwards, and others, well you tell me why you're beginning your journey!
As a university student, I am very aware that sometimes it's just not possible to join a gym, prices are constantly rising, so that's why I'll be uploading workouts that you can do from your own room! That's right, you can and will get fit just from your own room, so there's nothing to worry about!
Please note, that I am not qualified in nutrition or fitness instructing, I upload workouts that have worked for me, please consult your medical advisor before trying out any of my workouts, it's always better to be safe rather than sorry!
